SUMMARY:

SB 375/CSFA  AS PASSED SENATE

Would raise the legal age for sales of cigarettes, tobacco products, tobacco related objects, alternative nicotine products and vapor products from 18 to 21. 

Would also require the State Board of Education to determine a minimum course of study in vaping, smoking, and other drug use, which may be included as a part of a comprehensive health education study. The State Board shall be ready with this study information no later than July 1, 2020 with local board implementation no later than December 31, 2020. 

 

EFFECTIVE DATE:

July 1, 2020, if passed.
